Living on a catamaran at sea has unique challenges for musical instruments, as they are constantly exposed to high humidity. There is also limited space available on a sailboat, so size was an important consideration (hence the smaller 61-key, instead of a full 88-key keyboard).
After discussions with other sailors, musicians, as well as manufacturers I selected to go with Yamaha instruments. It was not a hard decision, as I have always been impressed with Yamaha equipment, from musical instruments to outboard motors, they offer some of the highest quality available. The selection of a single manufacturer also means I deal with only a single point of contact should service be needed.
